Jackie 1961 Handbag
Gucci released Jackie Bag’s re-introduction and offers a new opportunity on the historic Gucci icon.
Why is it called “Jackie 1961 Bag”?
Evolution of Gucci’s Jackie Bag: From 1950 to today’s Jackie 1961.
First designed in 1958, this hobo bag was initially named G 1907, and it wasn’t until 1961 that it was renamed Jackie, after repeated appearances on Jackin Onassis, the late John F. Kennedy’s wife.
Bringing back to the front, the recognizable shape is presented in the GG Supreme canvas and enhanced with an extra, detachable shoulder strap.
Paired with a bag with a buckle closure, the second strap adds a contemporary feel to the archival style, providing new ways to wear the top – from the top handle, to the shoulders to the body.
Versatile ways of wearing and style pieces embrace everyone who is part of the individual spirit of the home. Jackie 1961:
