Birmingham-area restaurants are adjusting their services to offer delivery and curbside pick-up options amid concerns over COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus.

Since the Alabama Department of Public Health announced the state’s first confirmed case of COVID-19 on March 13, restaurants in and around Birmingham began to take steps to ease patrons’ concerns about dining safety and health, directing patrons to their take out and delivery options. A growing number of area restaurants are amending their dining services to now include take out and curbside pick up. Some restaurants have temporarily suspended dining room operations: Urban Smoke in Fairfield will now only offer its drive-through services.
